Batam Island, Indonesia - Day Trip

It was past 9:00PM when our stressful meeting adjourned. While preparing to go home, we compulsively had a thought of having a quick trip in Batam, Indonesia. After few minutes of discussion, we found ourselves buying the ferry ticket.

We booked online via BatamFast. Ticket is SGD 48.00 return. We booked the earliest schedule bound to Batam which is 7:40AM. The following morning, I was already in Harbourfront around 7:00AM and had my breakfast in McDonalds while waiting for my colleague. Luckily, she came in around 7:30AM and we were unable to catch out schedule. So we headed back to the ticket station and ask the Auntie for the rebooking As fas as I remember, rebooking fee is SGD 8.00 and she pays for it. haha!

We boarded the BatamFast vessel around 8:10AM for the 8:40AM trip to Batam. Total travel time from SIngapore to Batam is roughly 1 hour.

*Please take note that Indonesia and Singapore have 1 hour timezone difference. Indonesia is ahead.
*Currency Exchange 1.00 SGD to 9,500.00 IDR

From Batam Terminal, we grab a taxi in Megamall Batam Centre (infront of the ferry terminal) bound to Nagoya Hill Shopping Centre. (IDR 150,000.00)

Nagoya Hill is the most famous Shopping Mall here in Batam. It's interior and architecture designs are awesome!

We did pamper ourselves in Nagoya Hill. We tried the service of Eska Spa. I avail the 2 hour package which includes 1 hour full body massage, Body Srub, Jacuzzi, Facial. Total cost is IDR 180,000.00. I did not have any massage since I came in Singapore and my body felt bliss after the session.

*Singapore massage cost around SGD 30.00 up for an hour massage. No way will I spend such money for body massage. haha!

After that, We ate at A&W. How I miss that restaurant. It shut down its market in the Philippine several years ago. It feels nostalgic having been able to have a taste of A&W once again.

Then, we ride taxi to take us to Barelang Bridge. This is the main spot here in Batam. Barelang bridge derive from BAtam - REmpang - GaLANG. Those three mentioned are the islands that connected by this bridge.

Trying out their Sweet Corn (Though it is a bit spicy). Actually, we thought that the driver is telling as prawn when we ask for their local food. But what he actually said by then was Corn. hahah!
