Last September, I tried to apply for a Korean Visa here in Singapore. I am nervous yet excited about this. Nervous because that would be my first time applying for a visa. Excited because visiting Seoul is one of my dream destinations.
I asked my Myanmar Project Manager to provide me a Certificate of Employment since I am shy to ask our HR to do so. Actually, I feel unsafe doing this because I don't know if the Consul will accept my application if my COE is signed by my Project Manager instead of our HR or President.
I prepared the following documents that listed on the Soutk Korea Embassy webpage.
1.) Filled up Visa Application Form
2.) Certificate of Employment
3.) 3 months bank statements
4.) 1pc passport size photo
When I completed all the above mentioned documents, I headed to Embassy of the Republic of Korea
Address:
47 Scotts Road #16-03, Goldbell Towers, Singapore 228233 (Near Newton MRT Station)
I came in around 9:00AM and the queue is long enough that I waited for about 1.5hrs before my turn,
While waiting, I felt cold. Nervous. I saw several Filipinos ahead of me and they were not granted visa. I became pessimistic for a few moments.
My number was flashed on the screen. It was my turn. I felt shaky when I reached the Consul. I greeted the Consul with my widest yet sincerest smile. I handed over my documents. She verifies my papers. She didn't ask me anything. She then gave a claim slip that indicate the date when I can claim my passport.
Visa Fee for Filipinos applying for 59 days Visa is Gratis (Free of Charge)
Processing time is 4 working days.
Since this is my first time applying for a visa, I actually thought that I successfully pass the first screening and I am praying that they will grant me Tourist Visa.
When I came back to claim my passport, I saw the visa attached to one of the pages. I was really happy and excited. I even had the courage to ask the consul that If they are the one conducting the first screen and she politely answered me that it was also the last screening. Once they took your passport and documents, that automatically means that they approved your application.
Well then, See you soon Seoul!
